Hello
I managed to create an ISO using AI. I still have one problem: network access. According to the AI, there’s a problem between Armbian and Volumio regarding network management.
If anyone has an idea, I’m all ears.
Hello

Hi, in case you followed the way some of Volumio’s portings were done with the help of Armbian (namely the Rock PI’s from Radxa), you will have seen no network management issues/ additions/ changes are needed for the simple reason that Volumio’s network management works for all of their own & our community portings out-of-the-box. Though this is assuming all the necessary wired/wireless drivers have been ticked in the kernel configuration and the armbian firmware has been included (you may have to remove firmware for atk11 because of a symlink which could not be handled). Please be aware, even when working correctly, your build will not get MyVolumio support, this only works for community supported devices with enough community interest. Pine64/pine64+ and sopine64 are not one of those anymore.
That’s convenient, my Volumio doesn’t interest me
Do you think there’s a way to make a fully functional Volumio 2 or 3 for Pine A64+?
No, unfortunately, my material got unsupported years ago.
Loved working with the Pine team (incl. lukasz), but numbers didn’t justify the effort. So, dead end I’m afraid.
Strange philosophy. What was interesting was the price of the board: 21 euros for 2GB of RAM and a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. When you see the prices exploding for other boards.
@Shinzuka
Why would this be strange?
In the past I created and maintained a number of community portings, but in the end is all about the number of downloads. If there is no more interest, then it is time to stop maintaining it as it becomes a waste of time. I’m sure you understand, don’t forget we do this all for free.
Anyway, perhaps my archive may help a little. You are on your own though, no support from me!!
Just clone the GitHub - volumio/volumio3-os · GitHub repo, read the requirements and then continue with this:
PINE64.zip (3.2 KB)
That it’s no longer maintained is perhaps understandable, but at least create an ISO for the interested party. If I manage to do so, I will provide the ISO. Thanks for the file, it’s kind of you.
As I said, this is voluntary work, so there is no obligation for me to go and find a place to store it on a server somewhere.
I understand, you can still find what you need for a Beagle board, but for a Pine A64 there’s nothing left. I’ve checked websites and there’s absolutely nothing. I hope I’ll succeed.
There was never a Volumio image for a Beagleboard, so I haven’t the slightest idea where your discussion is going. My contribution is finished, good luck!
However, it’s Volumio 2.
Yeah it indeed is only for BBB and it works just fine. I’m still using this build as the BBB hardware hasn’t been updated in years, so no need to really fiddle with version 3.
Were you able to install an i2s DAC on the BBB?
Yes…
