Volumio output to a network speaker over DLNA

Hi,

I’d to know if i can stream music from Volumio to a DLNA client (aka network speaker), no wires, no android app BubbleUPNP

MusicBee Player(DLNA Server) -----------> Volumio (Multicast server) ------------> DLNA Speakers (client & renderer)

Best of regards

For that you don’t even need volumio. From your musicbee dlna server can directly stream music to ur wireless dlna speakers.

If you are using volumio for something else - you can install minimserver (dlna server) on volumio - and stream music to your speakers. Depends on your usecase

Hi,

I know it,

In my case, Music Bee is not able to discover the DLNA network speaker but it can discover Volumio.

I never used miniDLNA.

do you think this can work ?

MusicBee Player(DLNA Server) -----------> Volumio (Multicast server) ------------>MiniDLNA----------> DLNA Speakers (renderer)

Thanks for your time.

I’m answering to myself, my speaker can’t connect to a server.
Only the server can connect to the renderer (the speakers)
I don’t think miniDLNA can initiate the connection to the speakers.
I bought a DigiPi (L2S driver is Hifi Berry) and now i use the Optical output.

Musicbee >(over dlna)> Volumio+ DIgipi>(over optical) speakers

MusicBee is not compatible with my speaker over DLNA but works well with Volumio.
That’s why there is an extra step by adding the RPI DAC to make it work.
