Volumio on RPi has stopped working

Volumio on my RPi was working fine the other day. When I went to listen to some music today the Volumio app could not find my Volumio instance. Why would this happen please? I have not changed anything on the RPi.

Steve

It’s hard to provide any usefull suggestion with this little amount of information.

  • Are you booting from USB or SD?
  • Is there a specific sequence of led flashes (red/green)?
  • Have you pulled the plug instead of gracefully shutdown?
  • You’re running which version of Volumio and please don’t say the latest?

Thank you for replying. I was not clear in my question to you and the community, and I apologise for that. What I was trying, badly, to ask, was: Has anyone else encountered such a situation please?

To answer your questions:

  1. SD card
  2. No specific sequence of flashes at all
  3. Normally I use the “Shutdown” option that Volumio provides. This time, however, when I realised the Volumio instance was unresponsive, I pulled the plug. So, this measure was AFTER I noticed that my system had stopped working. There was no way to turn the RPi off via Volumio.
  4. I am sorry, but I have no idea which version of Volumio is currently installed. I believe I allowed auto-install of updates

So, my course of action now is to scrap the Volumio instance, download a new install package on my SD card, and run the start up system again. I have no idea what happened to the running instance. If anyne else has had this issue I’d be very grateful if you could let me know your solution. I assume this will continue happening until I figure out what caused my Volumio instance to crash.

Steve.

Here’s a more polished and fluid version of your message—still clear, but with a touch more punch and polish:

Hi! SD cards can break or corrupt installations during power failures—whether caused by unplugging the device, undervoltage, or simply aging. Fortunately, the latest version of Volumio now supports USB booting, offering a much more stable experience and reducing the risk of installation corruption.
