I want to install Volumio on a miniPC. I’ve been using Volumio on a PC for quite some time now, to my complete satisfaction. At that time, I was still able to put it on the PC by simply copying the system from the USB to the SSD when it started. But this function has disappeared from the new systems. Now how do I install the system on the PC? Why did a well-functioning function have to be deleted at all? Incomprehensible!!!
Let’s focus on the problem please. It is very likely related to specific firmware. Please share in this thread the log link from your build:
Kind Regards
Unfortunately a known issue.
The problem was related to a specific release and has been fixed in the latest.
Download Volumio-3.636-2024-03-13-x86_amd64 and you are good to go.
Well, that surprised me a lot! I understand the new build here! I installed Volumio on a MacMini, not very confident in the success. But it went up for the first time, and the most wonderful thing is that all the functions work on it. It goes e.g. the wifi too, I could hardly believe it. Actually, only turning it off and restarting doesn’t work, but that doesn’t bother me because I never turn off the machine running Volume. It runs for months, and needs to be restarted with a maximum of one update. What I don’t understand is that it only plays DSD files if I turn off the MultiRoom function. But I didn’t even use this feature. Five stars for your work guys.
This is because for multiroom streams are resampled to 44.1Khz/16bit, same for all platforms Volumio runs on.
The restart issue on Mac Mini has been reported a couple of times before. I have no solution for as I don’t have one to investigate/test/play with.
