There is a video on YT with title “Volumio fast start”. Is this really possible and can anybody explain this fast start?
Maybe a silly thought, but posting the URL would make life a lot easier.
If you’re referring to the video where Volumio supposedly boots in two seconds, that’s simply not a cold boot. It appears the LCD is just being switched off and on again.
A real cold boot takes around 40 to 60 seconds at a minimum because the operating system needs to load first. Only then can Volumio start and become available. Physics is hard to beat.

I was aware that it wasn’t a cold boot. I was thinking more of “suspend to RAM” and wakeup.
It is certainly possible to improve boot time in linux as this archlinux doc shows
My computer boots in 8-12s.
