Volumio as DAC with iphone via USB and “digital input”

I see “digital and analog inputs” as a possible source alternative, I’m thinking if this might be a way no enable my RPI to work as a DAC connecting mi Iphone lightning to RPI usb

Is that how it works? Anybody tried it?

I checked documentation and this forum but can’t find anything and can’t test, price is very prohibiting

USB input is expected from a turntable etc., so probably not meeting your requirements. This question is about a MyVolumo feature, and you could check for a definitve answer at techsupport at volumio dot org.
