Volumio 4 Streaming to App

Greetings,

I was a Volumio user with a MyVolumio account. I loved the system. The only thing that was a non-started for me was the fact that remote streaming to the Volumio app was beyond flaky and frustrating in Volumio 3.

So I get an email just a bit ago that says:

"Hi,

We noticed you’re no longer subscribed and we get it, timing isn’t always right.

But we wanted you to know about something we’ve been working on for a while.

Volumio 4 just launched.

It’s the most significant update we’ve ever released; a full rebuild of the core system, not just a surface refresh. If the experience you remembered left anything to be desired, this is a different product.

What’s new in v4

Debian Bookworm base → more secure, more stable, better hardware drivers
Large library support → no issues even with 10,000+ tracks
CD reading speed control → choose your speed, eliminate disc noise
Faster UI & system response → less lag, more time with your music
Rebuilt Bluetooth stack → lower latency, instant playback on TVs and other devices
Improved network resilience → your app connects more reliably, every time
Enhanced plugin API → more powerful tools for customisation and community-built integrations
Native NVMe support → optimised read performance, noticeably faster
HDMI touchscreen improvements → smoother, more responsive panels
Expanded DAC compatibility → more USB DACs supported out of the box
Direct DSD support → native DSD playback on even more devices
Bluetooth remote control support → control playback from the couch, wirelessly
Enhanced plugin API → new capabilities for developers building on Volumio

If now feels like the right time to come back, we’d love to have you onboard!"

Nowhere in that list do I see anything about remote streaming to the app.

So, did this get improved at all in Volumio 4? It’s of no use to me if I can’t reliably stream at home and in the car. Also, Android app, does it do Android Auto now?

Anxiously waiting for a reply.

And, as expected, nary a peep.

Volumio would absolutely kill it if it could compete with Plex/Plexamp in this area.
