Volumio 4 for Volumio products (Motivo, Integro, Primo 2, Primo Plus, Rivo, Rivo Plus)

No, I’m not confused. I’m misinterpreting what you wrote; you can find it above. If I had written that you’re right, the problem is the lack of a hardware DSP, we’d have come to the same conclusions. What you consider the product’s best feature doesn’t seem to be excellent. Anyone here discussing how the hardware they purchased works didn’t pay only for a Raspberry Pi. The overall performance must be up to par, and it can’t be without adequate hardware (which I read in your message, not dreaming).

Hi,

Is the Primo V1 (1:st gen) officially now End Of Life and will neither receive the V4 update or any more updates above the current V3 version? I saw a post where someone said that support had told them that there will be no update to V4.

Since many plugins have or will deprecate their support for V3 it will start losing functionality.

Is there any official communication about this? @volumio @marco_volumio @Zabriskije

Hi everyone,

I saw some confusion going around about Primo V1 and Volumio 4, if you received the impression that we officially confirmed Primo V1 will never get Volumio 4, that was a miscommunication on our part, not a final decision.

To be clear: we’re still discussing internally whether and how Volumio 4 could come to Primo V1. I don’t have a confirmed answer either way yet, and I don’t want to give false hope or a false “no” before we’ve properly looked into it.

I’ll follow up here as soon as we have something concrete to share.

Thanks for your patience,
Marco
