Volumio 3 / Rivo with Tidal is horrible

Hi,

Volumio 3 Tidal integration is horrible. Can’t manage my favourites, slow, loses connection frequently, refuses to search or play… Awful.

Tidal connect works, but I would like to use it in Volumio 3.

Blue OS and WiiM Home app did work flawlessly without any problem. Is it really that buggy?

Did you upgrade to the latest version for your Rivo, V3.882?

I did upgrade, of course.

I can see my Tidal favourites, but it’s a pain in the a** to search amoung them.

Slow, and loses contact frequently. I use the iOS app on an iPad anyway.

Hi. What makes it so difficult to search among your albums, artists, playlists, or tracks on Tidal from within the Volumio UI?

Regarding connectivity, you may be having internal network issues. I imagine that “loses contact frequently” means the Volumio app on your tablet and your Rivo fall out of sync every now and then?

Just out of curiosity, if you open Safari within your tablet and type in your Rivo’s name + .local in the address bar, do you experience the same behaviour? The address should be “yourdevicename.local” to test.

Hi,

As I have wrote, there’s absolutely no network issue here, because both BlueOS and WiiM Home app has worked like a charm. It must be a Volumio issue.

iOS app was horrible, at the moment a use it through Manifest UI from my PC, it is much better.

But still can’t save FusionDSP presets or favourites, and Tidal search function amoung my Tidal favourites is… not that great.

@csabato

Is your issue with the new iOS app as you mention via the browser is OK?
So we know where to look into and address 1 issue at the time.

Sadly not, the same issue on both: I can’t save presets (and favourites as well, but that not really bugs me at the moment).

I see only “undefined” when trying to load a preset.
