The s812 version should work on your TV box, but you should try it. You can try to start the system from an external media and check its operation. The internal memory will remain unchanged. You have a TV box with NAND or eMMC ?
The General procedure for starting the system from external media is the same for all Amlogic. To download an image, unpack and write it to the SD card. Add the correct dtb file (copy from the /dtb directory to the root of the media one of the files and rename it to “dtb.img”). With the" toothpick method", activate multi-loading once. Once activated, the system will attempt to start from an external storage medium. If within 10 minutes the screen does not appear any image, you need to try to take turns to use other dtb files from the directory “/dtb” (copy and rename with replacement). After that, try to start the system with a new file (connect the SD card in the TV box and turn on the power, wait 10 minutes). If none of the files the system does not start, write, we will think further.
Here you can find additional information on launching the system from external media, it is common for Armbian and Volumio.
hi balbes150
I install version0.7 volumio in my Tv box with Amlogic s905.I copy gxl_230_2g.dtb to /boot and rename dtb.img.After boot,It blocked with below screen.
What is wrong?I think it is about Hdmi audio output.
By the way, where can I download avaible openmediavault based debian ,I want to build Nas
What makes you think the system is locked ? Press “Enter” and you will see a prompt to enter your login. Also check the standard connection to Volumio via the web interface.
If you need openmediavault, take the Armbian server and install the necessary packages from openmediavault on it.
I’ve tried all 13 of the dtb files. Every boot freezes after 30 seconds. Incidentally, when you have LE installed it seems you don’t need the toothpick; just insert the SD card.
Q. Why does the S802/S812 boot folder contain an S805 autoscript?
Q. If you have the time, could you ask the WeTek developers to help you with the image? The people at WeTek seem to be both very approachable and very keen to help anyone provide support and systems for their devices.
Pay attention. Official images of the LE for the Wetek using old version of multiboot (which may not work with Volumio). Therefore, to run Volumio, it is necessary to activate multi-boot using the image Volumio or Armbian. If you have installed LE, show the output of the command “fw_printenv” (connect via SSH to Wetek and run this command, the result is shown here). I am open to any cooperation. Invite the Wetek representatives here, we will discuss what is missing for the launch.
The name S805_autoscript is the universal name for all s8xxx.
PS in the near future I’m going to relax and I will not have the Internet, so all the questions after the return …
Tested Volumio on S905W dtb file from khadas_vim. Everything works. Now almost confirmed, it is possible to use Volumio on the entire line of products S9xxx
Version 0.8 for S9xxx kernel 4.18. The system starts, but the web interface is not available. It is unclear what the reason is. Perhaps Volumio specialists will be able to understand the reason.
Thank you for this post,
I can run volumio on my mx3-g and it’s great.
I just want to know how change the samplerate limit of the toslink because I can’t have more than 16/96.
On android with usb audio player pro, I can have 24/192 with the toslink output to my micromega mydac (which can go up to 24-bit / 192kHz through optical input)
thanks
