thanks for reporting

@Michelangelo
Thank you so much for Volumio’s hard work that it’s constantly evolving. I use it almost every day and have a lot of fun with it!

@All
Please be careful with the use of this version, so that no damage to speakers and devices!
For all who have the problem with the volumecontrol, I have found for me a workaround, until the solution is found and an upgrade is available. For me, the following has helped:

I have also noticed that the volume jumps very high with a single tap on the volume symbol. (2.5.22) It does not matter if you click quieter or louder.
After resetting to factory settings and reconfiguring Volumio, the issue was solved.

Unfortunately, the HighRes icons are no longer displayed in Qobuz … Restart, new sign in to MyVolumio, sign up for Qobuz, emptying the album cache had not help anything. I After reflashing the SD card, the same problem withe volumecontrol again, so it does not help anything.

I hope it helps with troubleshooting :slight_smile:

Same problem. Nice to hear that “work is in progress”. Maybe you can stop updating to 2.522 (close update-channel)?
I discovered that after every reboot volume is set to 50% or louder.

Is it possible to downgrade in such a case to an old version?

If i set “max volume” to 30 it’s end at 30.
Then if i point at the slider i can adjust volume. With plus or minus or use volume Rocker at phone it ends at maxvolume…

Same problem here too.
Start-up volume is 50, one click on the vol up takes it straight to 90. Click vol down takes it further to 99
Luckily my amp volume wasn’t too high so not quite deaf yet…I heard that…Pardon :slight_smile:

Topping D10 DAC

Setting the mixer type to software completely resolves to issue.

O well… Restore back to 2.502 ( the most stable so far for me)

For me, the Version 2.5.13 is the best at the moment :smiley:

How? Manually? Or have you made a backup before updating.
I hope the fix came soon, i like to hear music again! :wink:

I have reflshed the SD-Card.
I think it’s the fastest way.

I have been working around PCs for an awful long time, I always backup if possible before updating anything. IMO you’re daft not to.

You can use Win32DiskImager to make an iso image, then if things go wrong or do not work as in this case just reflash the image back to the card.
This way you are back as you were, settings, play lists and all

I also work with PC’s (and Servers) for a long time. But it is not “so easy” as you think. One of my volumio is inside a loudspeaker. To open it you need a special long screwdriver. Another volumio is under the roof. So i need a ladder to climb up. Another one is in the furniture of my kitchen. I need to disassemble the furniture to get it.
As you can see, it’s not so easy as you think. :wink:
But yes, next time i update only one of them and test it before updating all.
A better way would be an option to restore to the last version (before the update). This would be a nice feature.

lol…no… not so easy in your case.
I’ve added an sd extension ribbon to my RPI, enabling removal of the card from outside the case, saves having to disassemble the case every time it needs re-flashing.
Just a case of removing and replacing with a back-up to get me up and running again.

But yeah, I agree a restore or roll back feature could be handy.
