USB dongle with RPi5

This is my first post, ive started a project using a linn intersekt case thrown in a raspberry pi and a IOandIO pro dac internally. Everything is running perfectly apart from the USB WiFi dongle. I have not see any posts anywhere that say the rpi5 has any dongle support at the moment would this be right?

Is there a list of dongles that work for Rpi5 yet or is it still experimental?

i have a USB dongle that uses the RTL8812BU drivers but cant get them to work at all. if I used a rpi4 would this resolve the issue or is it a volumio issue?

excuse me for all the questions but I am a bit of a noob in this scene.

Any reason to not use onboard WiFi?
And supported card are the same for Rpi5 than others PI

Ive read that the RTL8812BU has issues with volumio. I wanted an external antenna as the pi is in an enclosure and will be sitting away from any ethernet ports in the house.
