Unofficial Volumio 3 on Odroid boards (C4/ N2/ N2+/ M1S)

gkkpch,
Thank you for supporting the porting of the Odroid SBC!
And after some silence from you, I am happy to see that the Topic is open again and you are writing New messages in it!
Volumio 4 for Odroid is an intriguing news!
Thank you!
My first experience with Volumio started with the Odroid C4 SBC. I was very satisfied. But later, when I switched to the ODROID N2+, I realized that it is a big step forward in both quality and usability. Perhaps I will change this SBC to the Odroid N3 when it is released

Hi @gkkpch !

I think Odroid C5 looks very promising!

Regards C

@ClaesM
Promising, but a first test with the hardkernel ubuntu stock image showed the (kernel) software is not enough mature for serious work on it. I will definitely leave it for a while until more info and fixes become available.
This will take a few months.

Ok! I understand! Thanks for info!

Regards C

@all thanks for voting, although early, it already shows the direction it goes with the N2’s.
Just hope there will be a few more votes.

Note: with the N2’s the C4 also get rolled out (same kernel, identical build process), however the N2L is NOT and will not be supported because it does not meet the basic requirements for a Volumio device.

As for the Odroid C5, there is hardly any activity on the Odroid forum either, so I will let this slip until at least autumn and then reconsider.

Bumping this one in case Odroid interested people missed the call.
Odroid support is not a given, it needs demand otherwise support will eventually cease.

Thanks, but credits go to the Volumio core team, there were no C4, M1S and N2/N2+ platform changes I contributed to…

Hello, I just came back to Volumio after a long time not using a streamer. I am using an Odroid C4.

My question is should I click the software update in Volumio? I just freshly installed it on my C4 and saw the update notification for 3.819. Should I update it there or wait for a new image to be uploaded here?

Yes V3.819 is the latest stable version

My personal opinion is that there is no need to upload a new image to update. I always press the software update button in Volumio. I only upload a new image when I have a failure.
It is important to remember that software updates for Odroid, are possible if the “Test” button is enabled in the “Update Channel Selection” section of the http://000.000.00.000/dev/
(000.000.00.000 - IP address of your Volumio)

Thank you for the information.

I already updated to 3.819 before I saw your post. I checked my /dev settings and it is set to “stable” but I was still able to update.

Tried to install the Touch plugin on N2+, but install failed

Screen is stuck at this error message

I think this happened because the repo for buster moved from:
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian buster main

to:
deb http://archive.debian.org/debian buster main

What can I do to make the plugin install error-free on the N2+ ?

@Wheaten Good shot, but why do other boards not have this issue?
rootfs is the same for all armv7 devices.

Could someone please submit a full install log so we can exactly see in which part the error occurs?
