Touch screen works only partially

Hello dear friends,

I need your help again.

On my new DIY boombox i run in to a issue with the touchscreen.

Only part of the screen does react to touch.
On the pic below the green area works fine, the red part does not react.

The screen is correctly oriented and the part, which works fine with touch obviously too, so there is no screen orientation issue.

The setup:

Raspberry 4 B
Allo Piano 2.1 DAC
Waveshare 7.9 inch HDMI IPS-TFT-LCD Display 1280*400

The screen is connected to the Pi with the original connectors provided by Waveshare

I run:
Volumio: 3.757
Touch display 3.5.1
Now Playing 0.7.3

Any idea someone, pls?

please try with the latest beta version 3.772

That is now getting me even more headaches

I rewrote the last stable image to the SD card, setup the display essentials, then started DEV and hit the update to 3.772. Update successful, display still works, but can’t get pas this:

Volumio is not reachable on that address, SSH does work…

Never mind, went back to stable. Touch screen still works only partially. It also may be just hardware failure on Waveshares side. For now, I have no time to troubleshoot… Will use remote control only for now.

Plan is to buy one more screen to check, if that was the problem. If not, I still can use that screen for the next project
