Topping E50 DAC Volumio 3 Tidal MQA only works rarely

I have Volumio 3.429 running on a R Pi 4 with a Topping E50 DAC. I have just started a Premium subscription.

My issue is that I cannot get MQA playback to work consistently from the Volumio UI. It works rarely but it works everytime when using Tidal connect.

I have Mixer set to None in the Playback settings so I think that should allow bit-perfect passthrough of the MQA files. The Topping E50 supports full MQA decoding.

I saw another report of MQA not working with the Topping D90SE with a fix coming. Could I benefit from that fix?
