I prefer not to use Wi-Fi, but I sometimes start playback from my phone. I have run into two very frustrating issues:
- A. The Tidal app, when using Volumio as an output device, behaves differently on Android compared to Windows. On Android, a track has the “Track Radio” option, but on Windows, the exact same track lacks this option in the menu.
- B. Because of this discrepancy, I am forced to start playback from Android. However, when I open Tidal on Windows, it fails to recognize the current state of the Volumio player (Linux) and does not synchronize. If I switch the audio output to Volumio from Windows, the “Radio” queue started on Android is immediately interrupted and wiped out, replaced by whatever track was left in the Windows player. (Given that I don’t always want to turn on a noisy, slow-booting PC — where the Radio feature is missing anyway — this behavior completely breaks the user experience).
