Tidal Connect not playing

I have my Volumio device chosen in Tidal, but not hearing any music when hitting play. I can see the song progressing in Tidal and the Volumio apps. I hear the Volumio start up tone when it plays. I am using an iPhone and have a Raspberry Pi streamer. Any help?? Thank you.

  • A: I have only tried Tidal Connect as a source for my RPi Streamer. As mentioned, I can hear the Volumio start up sound, so I know that the streamer signal is getting to the DAC to amp to speakers. I could try another source (my macbook via USB to the streamer?) as a control. I currently have an ethernet connection from my router to the RPi.

Overall, I seem so close. Tidal Connect sees my streamer as a device, it’s selected, Volumio sees Tidal, but just no signal coming out of the streamer to produce sound when I hit play.

Just did some searching and it looks like I would NOT connect my mac to the RPi via USB but rather use the mac as a network drive that Volumio could access. I’ll give that at try to see if I can get some sound.

To test a other source, just use web radio :wink:

Yes! Web Radio works :blush: Now I need Tidal connect to play!

I have Tidal working at 16bit 44.1khz, but when the song is 24bit 96khz, it won’t play… I’d love to get that next step of fidelity… What do I need to do??

How do you connect your DAC to your AMP?

Do you have another source of music at 24/96 to test?

I would assume the Ian Canada TransportPi Digi supports this bit depth and rate.

I’m traveling this week so can’t test it, but besides Qobuz what other sources can produce 24bit 96khz? I’ll give it a try next week and let you know. Thanks again!

Hi. I recently noticed the same problem with volumio connect. Some songs are not being streamed. Sometimes in the same album some songs play and some not. It applies to high resolution mainly. If i use native app in volumio, all records are downsampled and run ok. You can try the newest record of Pat Metheny - MoonDial. The first 2 tracks dont go, the 3rd does. I think the process of removing mqa screwed something in their files.

Volumio does not Connect to tidal
Yesterday is works fine today not

In work only by using the streamer with the tidal app you cannot Connect to the streamer revome and install Tidal but no succes

Switch off all plug-in same result

I use

RPI3b
Volumio version 3.812
Install TOUCH display and now playing

I made several fresh install.
The problem still there.

Also update the Volumio app

Mine isn’t playing either except from Windows. It is a server side problem it seems. Problems with Android and IOS I gather from Reddit and WIIM forum. Same problem on my other streamer (Cambrighe AXN10) Chromecast protocol also fails.
