The gain when playing Tidal connect is much lower than playing Tidal via the Volumio app (or other sources in the app like web radio) It could be as much as 9 db difference. Volumio Rivo+ tot Denafrips Pontus 15th. Control via Google Pixel 6a. Connected and tested via I2S and Also via USB.
Hello,
did you try Tidal connect from a PC or from other mobile device?
Does it happen the same behavior?

Yes Tidal connect from my pc (windows tidal app) is also less loud than via the Volumio app or Volumio via the web interface. I also tried Bubble UPNP that seems to be as loud as the volumio app.
please verify the MIXER TYPE (Playback option menu)
Maybe is setted on Software
Turn it to Hardware or NONE

It was already set to none. I don’t even get the hardware option.
I suspect the gain is too low with tidal connect, because my volume dial is slightly higher than usual. Bubble UPNP is also loud, and that doesn’t use connect.
I figured out what happened. Somehow Normalize Volume had been turned on In the Tidal app where it wasn’t before.
Hi guys,
Sorry to reopen this, but I’ve also just noticed the same behavior. The differences are that:
a) I’m not using Volume Normalization on the Tidal app (desktop, macOS)
b) Mixer type is already set to none
c) No volume normalization or upsampling within Volumio either
d) I’m not running FusionDSP or any EQ
I’ve just updated to version 3.799 and running an external USB dac (Fosi ZD3). I don’t remember this happening before this version.
Can you reproduce this behavior, @DED ?
If it helps, I tried this with Rush’s Moving Pictures album to compare.
I’ll try asap, but it doesn’t seem a common behavior for me

Hi! I’ve tested this out again on 2 different systems and configurations and it doesn’t seem to be happening anymore.
