Systeem Freeze in March 2026 version

I greatly enjoy using the Volumio music player. Unfortunately, the most recent version (March 2026) has an annoying bug. When I use the Search function or select a large folder to play, the system freezes (meaning it play no music, but I still select menu’s and do a soft restart). Restarting Volumio does not resolve the issue. To recover from this, I have to disconnect the power from my Raspberry Pi 4 (32GB SD card) with an Allo Boss DAC.

The common factor in both situations seems to be that Volumio has to process a large amount of data.

Your post is missing information required for investigation.

All of the following are mandatory:

  • Device model (Raspberry Pi 3/4/5, x86, etc.)
  • Storage type (SD card, SSD, USB, eMMC)
  • Raspberry Pi board revision (if applicable)
  • Power supply (brand, connector type, wattage/amps)
  • Exact Volumio version number (example: 3.569)
