Synchronized playback of Sonos and Volumio

Hello,

I’ve really been enjoying Volumio. I saw a post that said synchronized playback between Sonos groups and the device running Volumio (in most cases our HiFi systems) was in the works. That would really make it the perfect solution for master quality streaming. Is there any update on when that function may be available?

I understand there must be some complications, I.e the Sonos system’s limitations as to the quality of audio it can process.
However, if Volumio produced a simultaneous cast at the highest possible quality Sonos allows for along with the master quality Volumio specializes in - it would be a remarkable advancement for this solution!

Hi, streaming to Sonos is already available on Volumio. However, it’s not possible to synchronize playback of Sonos and non-Sonos systems (Volumio).

One question: why you mention ifi? It has nothing to do with Volumio…

Thank you. I changed the topic to make it clearer. I meant any device that Volumio is running on.

Was it mentioned in a previous post that there may be an update that allows a simultaneous playback?

I could have sworn I saw something.
