Subject: Relay clicking issue on Cayin iDAC-8 with Raspberry Pi 5 - Volumio 4

Description:

  • Device: Raspberry Pi 5 (Kernel 6.12.47-v8+).
  • DAC: Cayin iDAC-8 (Connected via USB with external power isolator).
  • Issue: The DAC relay clicks (mechanical sound) every time I press “Next” manually.
  • Observations:
    • It does not happen during gapless playback (end of song to next song).
    • It only happens when pressing “Next” or “Stop” manually.
    • Laptop (Windows/macOS) with the same DAC does not have this issue.
  • Tested solutions (but failed):
    • Enabled Audio Resampling (Fixed 24-bit/192kHz).
    • Set mpc crossfade 1.
    • Set always_on "yes" in mpd.conf.
    • Tried usbcore.autosuspend=-1.
  • Request: Please optimize the USB “Mute” command or “Stream Stop” handling for RPi5 to prevent DACs from re-locking/dropping the handshake between tracks.
