Streaming Tidal/Qobuz to Volumio2

Dying already then what’s next?

I know umpmdcli have its own plugins for Tidal and Qobuz but I never got to understand how they work. Can those be enabled and used in Volumio?

Hello Michelangelo,

what do you think, when will the Qobuz-Plugin will be available?

Thanks for your answer.

Christian

Yes.

Though you’ll have to upgrade upmpdcli to the latest version, first (and install the upmpdcli plugin(s)). After doing so, you’ll have to “fix” /lib/systemd/system/upmpdcli.service so that the ExecStart line reads

ExecStart=/usr/bin/upmpdcli -c /volumio/app/plugins/audio_interface/upnp/upmpdcli.conf.tmpl

as it did before the upgrade. And you’ll need to edit the configuration file, /volumio/app/plugins/audio_interface/upnp/upmpdcli.conf.tmp, manually since there’s no GUI for configuring the Tidal/Qobuz services.

The upmpdcli website is pretty good about guiding you through the installation and configuration.

The absence of an easy way to stream hi-res music (tidal /qobuz) through raspberry is the only reason why i am not getting into Volumio and Allo boards. I am stuck with my old PC knowing that i am not feeding my super duper dac properly. But I don’t want extra hardware such as dlna or lms server whatever, i don’t want to rely on misterious Api, i just need something easy to let me enjoy the sound quality of rpi ecosystem. Better if MQA is included.
And i am willing to pay for it, since i am already paying 20 bucks/month for tidal, having to pay a couple more wouldn’t make me mad.

Hello and thank you in advance for your work.
While digging on my volumio (which is on a raspi2), I noticed the plugin logitech media server … What brings you more than volumio and especially would it be possible to put the plugin of qobuz on the lms?
thank you in advance

I give you guys an hint: TIDAL and QOBUZ are part of a major feature upgrade we’re completing.

Happy NewYear !!!
This will make VOLUMIO the greatest app !!!

Super great news to wish to pass in 2108.
Good day to all

Hi Michelangelo, when are you expecting to release this new update?

I think I’m not the only one here really looking forward to try it!

Thanks for the great work

FYI the next mpd version (0.21) will have a tidal and qobuz plugin.

I am about to purchase an Allo Digione. I’m trying to decide between Volumio and dietpi right now. Tidal is the lynch pin for me. I would much prefer a plugin solution for Volumio than all the fooling around in diet pi. Does anyone know what the status is on this plugin?

it looks like there’s a new MPD update on average of once a month so that’s probably going to be before the end of the month. Then you have to figure in how frequently Volumio updates. Estimated guess would be less than two months, maybe as soon as a couple of weeks.

edit: scratch that, the Tidal plugin is slotted for 0.21 and the updates I based my guess on were are all 0.20.xx. There could be a lot more 0.20.xx before they get to 0.21. It may be a long while.

Hi

Always waiting…

Here I am:
just another user waiting for Tidal support… do we have any news?
Still waiting for MyVolumio, whatever it is

Waiting almost 5 months for Tidal :  and train the patience
Any chance to be released in 2018??
Second question will this plug-in (if appear in future…) support also Tinker Board or only RP3?

any chance this is coming soon?

Regarding Qobuz support, is it known whether 24-bit streaming will be possible? It sounds like getting the plugin work depends on the cooperation of the people at Qobuz, so I understand if that part isn’t settled yet.
