Hi all and thanks to the team for this nice project !
We have just tried Volumio (v.2.348) and bought the android app for an HiFiBerry on a raspberry pi 3B, and all is working well.
We have struggled a little bit while setting up the network, as we usually work at home with fixed IP’s and the RPI or volumio did not look like to be agreeing with this. Anyway, it is now set up on DHCP, just have had to configure the mDNS to work on the windows computer.
This is nice working, now.
But, in order to add any difficulty, we would like to stream the entire audio flow of a windows computer to the Volumio Raspberry.
According to the manual (volumio.github.io/docs/User_Man … lumio.html), I tried Stream What You Hear (SWYH), but it did not look like doing what it is intended for as it only runs a play on the client interface…
Then, I managed to make it through TuneBlade and Airplay, but the latency is quite high, even if the sending computer is not so busy or the wired network saturated. I guess the latency comes from TuneBlade itself…
I am now looking for a VLC stream solution. Is volumio able to open a network stream?
In which format (RDP, RTSP, UDP,…)?
Again congrats for this great work !
Thanks for your answers and cheers !
