Spotify: previous playlist persists when choosing new playlist

volumio version: lastest
rpi 4

how to re-create:
play a spotify playlist (we’ll call this playlist A) from android spotify app and select volumio as playback device. the songs will play as a per normal. let it play through to the end of the playlist.
now try to select a different playlist (let’s call this playlist B) to play again from the android spotify app. the first song of playlist B will play. after this song has finished playing all subsequent songs will play from playlist A without me having touched anything. if you open the volumio app on android and inspect the playlist from there (bottom left corner), you will indeed see that it is populated with songs from playlist A, not playlist B.

expected behaviour: when switching to playlist B after playlist A, the playlist should clear all songs from playlist A and instead populate songs from playlist B.

what i’m doing now as a fudge: after switching to playlist B, and while the first song from playlist B is still playing, I have to quickly open the volumio app, open the playlist there, press the trash button to clear the playlist of all songs from playlist A, whereupon the song will stop playing, then I will click play button to resume. now the song will continue playing and subsequent songs will play from playlist B as expected.

how to fix this?
