Spotify plugin for Volumio2

Hi,

I’ve tried to install and uninstall several time but I cannot manage to see anything after installing and configuring the plugin.

Let me recap what I’ve done:

Installed the plugin “Spotify Plugin for Volumio2”
Activated the plugin and configured with credentials of my Premium Spotify account
Saved the configuration
No icons in the browse section
The file /var/log/volumio.log seems to connect correctly to Spotify but there is another error after this though it does not seem to be related to the problem:

I have tried to reboot but still I cannot manage to see anything in the browse section.

Is there anything else I can check?

Alberto

Hi again,

I found myself the answer after reading on some posts. I was actually using Facebook login to connect to Spotify.

I have found that I could set up a device account and after setting it up and changing credentials in the plugin I can see the Spotify icon in the browse section.

This post Spotify community has helped:

Deactivating facebook and keeping spotify without having to get a new acct can be done if you have a premium acct. you need to log back into facebook so you will have access to your spotify acct. You then need to create a device password. click this link to create a device password spotify.com/account/set-device-password Once you receive an email and create your device password, log out/deactivate facebook, then log into spotify on your device using your new numerical username and password provided. Enjoy!

Alberto
