Spotify no sound

Hello,
I have been using Volumio for a few months and I am having problem with Spotify. I have a family account, the plugin Spotify connect is installed.

In this spring I could listen to Spotify without any problem.
But in June I had to go through the plug-in “Volumio simple Equalizer” to get some sound.

Since this summer, impossible to listen to Spotify … whith or without the Equalizer.
Volumio appears in the spotify list, but no sound comes out.

I tried everything: reset system, reboot wifi, unintal-reinstal the plug-in … without success.

For information, I am in liaison I2S and my Dac appears as “hifiberry dac +”. Volumio is on version 2.457

Do you have a solution for this problem?

You should not need the equaliser plugin to get sound. If you have time, try a factory reset or a fresh flash of Volumio, install the Spotify plugin you are interested in, and check that it works well. If not, then please send a system log.

I did yet factory reset (many times…) without success. But you’re right, I’ll format the sd card and do a fresh flash of volumio.
I’ll give news after that.

I did a fresh flash of volumio yesterday but the problem remains the same. Always no sound…

I specify that :

  • Spotify detects my volumio
  • volumio reads the spotify’s music (visible on the tab “Play” of volumio)
  • the sound level is indicated 100

It’s frustationg because I don’t have any problem to play Web radio, hard disk…

Are you sure that you used Spotify Connect during that period … I can’t see anything in the log to show it’s connecting. Could you reboot your RPi, try Spotify Connect, check that there is no sound, and then send another log?

P.S. You have other plugins installed … please just install the Spotify Connect one first for problem solving.

Reboot system done, the problem stays…
Of course, I used spotify connect. I can hear one “ploc” when connecting and volumio shows what spotify is playing.

OK so I can see Spotify Connect working in the last log, but there are no obvious errors to my eye. I think that I would raise the issue in the official Spotify Connect post, where the plugin author should see it & have more knowledge than myself.

P.S. It just occurs to me … you haven’t got the volume turned down/muted on the device running Spotify have you? Probably not, but I just wanted to be clear :slight_smile:

I checked the question of volume turned down/muted, it’s ok (on PC, on spotify, on volumio).
But, I remenber, the fist time I use spotify on volumio, I had to set the volume at 100 in the plug-in to have sound.
With the initial setting (33) I hadn’t sound.
Maybe it is an indication.

If you are talking about volspotconnect2 then yes, it has a separate volume mixer similar to how the Spotify client on your desktop works - the volume of Spotify playback is set relative to the current system playback volume.

Yes I understand but with the initial level at 33 of volspotconnect2 I should have had sound (with spotify at 100 and computer at 100).

Actually all the sets are at 100 and the problem continue.
