Hi new here I use the latest version of volumio .
I install the plugging spotify and spotify.
And when I need to get it active…it show a never ending round that search…and when I checked if it’s active …it is still not activated…what do I need to do???
I want it on my computer and android to play the music on the volumio with aoide dac ii.!!!
And this on android…searching for device when enabling spotify.
Please, what is your device ?
What is the version of volumio (official or dev ?)
When happens the hang ? when enabling spotify or spotify connect or both ?

I have a raspberry pi 3 b with aoide dac II
And I have de version of volumio 2.389
And the hang goes when I want to enable both and you tube too hang and come back to the start up menu of volumio with nothing change.
The volumio is on my wi-fi.not with cable

Try reinstalling and when I want to enable spotify or spotify connect…it spin and tell me that the device is not found…then I click search and found it right away but nothing enable

hello all, first time using Volumio on the Allo DigiOne player.
i have installed the plugin, Spotify Connect2, and it is working BUT…
Volumio device shows only on my desktop Spotify app and of course, i can select it for streaming.
then, only then, do i see Volumio in other apps running on a laptop or another Android devices.
so the question is: what is unique about the desktop Spotify app?
it was in fact the desktop where i first connected to Volumio and installed the plugin.
and i did not have to enter my Spotify credentials. so how did the plugin work?
updates:
i reflashed Volumio and retried the plugin. same behavior.
all devices are on the same local home network.
“volumio” shows up only on the desktop Spotify and streams beautifully.
in search of solution, i tried Max2Play and as far as Spotify Connect is concerned,
it works perfectly; i.e., once enabled it is quickly seen by all devices.
but M2P has other issues, mostly UI stuff.
so I am stuck for now…
Have you enabled “Multi device”? There were some people facing issues with certain android clients and Facebook login.
Try logging in once from the plugin, and counter check?

spotify on volumio plugin version: Volumio spotify connect2
my phone able to detect volumio spotify connect however it shows connecting and disappear thereafter. when i go into devices from my phone, volumio spotify connect will appear intermittently and nothing happens after i select it again. and it will appear intermittently again and comes to a stop where it will appear (like forever) for me to select and nothing happens (again)
Tried to set multi user on but not of much use.
any help?
Librespot (which volspotconnect2 is based on) is broken apparently.
They are in the process of fixing it.

This is fixed now. Waiting the official update, you can install the dev version from my github repo.

Hi, I just installed the latest version (18 May 2018) from Github using these commands:

cd ./volspotconnect2
volumio plugin install
My settings for Volspotconnect2 are:
Volumio ver: 2.389
Device: Raspberry Pi 2B+
Initial Volume: 100
Volume Normalisation: OFF
Multi-User Device: ON
I was able to connect and play some songs using Spotify app on my iPhone. However, when I switch away to other app (I did not have background app refresh turned on Spotify app), the connection will lost. It is as if the Spotify must be active or else the connection will lost. I tried the same test on Mac and got the same result. As soon as I close the Spotify app, the connection will lost and music stop playing.
Am I missing something? What else can I try?
Are you sure you are using Spotify connect and not airplay? It looks like…
Let me ask You : does volumio’s buttons : prev, next, play/pause working with Volspotconnect2 plugin ?
Yes previous/next but only stop.,.

Yes, I’m sure I was using Spotify Connect instead of Airplay. Even if it was Airplay, the behaviour shouldn’t be like that. But yeah, I’m sure it was Spotify Connect.
Vospotconnect2 never worked for me, I use the old Voslpotconnect without any inconvenience.
I would like it to work, but I got tired of trying, there is no way.
Any ideas?
Sure: edit the volspotconnect2.tmpl file and replace ${devicename} to what ever you want.
What architecture, and what exactly do you mean by never worked?
