Hello to all nice people, maybe this will kick on some new projects. Why am I writing this? Well, we are all in the ever going pursue of better sound quality.
Now I have played with Pi’s in all versions that Volumio supported, had a dell thin client running volumio, a mac mini etc etc.
My conclusion is that all of them sound different. Now the one that sounds better in my case is an MSI motherboard, with a low power i7 (the low power is important), Linear PSUs (I make all my electronics my self) and low noise clocks for USB and MB. I did not try to change the LAN clock yet, but I did change it on my “media” switch witch also made a bit difference. I used neutron star 3 clocks for that, but also find out that the new oscillators that came out and cost arround 100€ each (compared to the 1€ used as standard) do the job nicely for less money than the newtron stars and can fit where the old ones was.
Please do not start a discussion explaining physics and stuff, most of us went to school, but do share your experiences.
Have a nice weekend with your soldering iron and some music:)
