Prerequisites
Volumio Information
Volumio Version: 3.832 (recent update, from previous which was OK)
Hardware: Raspberry Pi 3, power supply 5V 6A 30W powering Pi & DAC, wifi dongle, SSD connected on USB
DAC: Allo Piano 2.1 DAC with Kali Reclocker.
Debug Log
Not available because Volumio really unresponsive (impossible to go to GUI to create log or enable ssh)
Steps to Reproduce
- Was on previous Volumio version, worked well after Volumio's team effort on this config (@nerd & @Josh2000 )
- Upgraded to 3.832
- Volumio GUI impossible to reach or work with when a bit of elements were displayed
- Created a clean SD CARD by re-imaging a downloaded 3.832 image
- 1st setup fine
- Upon relaunch, impossible to reach Volumio or interact with it anymore
- Took an old image i had (3.7xxx), re-imaged, works perfectly.

At the moment
Given the different issues i had in the past 6months with this setup, i am asking
a. do others with the same setup faced issues with 3.832 or not ?
b. if not, i could try to investiguate (maybe by not selection any DAC at first, see if the issue comes from Allo Piano 2.1 selection)
c. if yes, i guess there are now too many possible issues with this setup (past 6months posts on this forum) and i should try to upgrade to something different
(=Raspberry Pi 5 not to rely on power consuming dongle & have better power supply setup/management and maybe another DAC arrangement)
d. what’s the link to the previous Volumio image (just before 3.832)?

Volumio Issue Investigation
Retry
3.832 fresh install, no DAC selected, wifi password given
Not possible to go to /dev with the GUI to enable SSH
Volumio not appearing on the network in any case or so slow i can not connect
4.021 fresh install, no DAC selected, wifi password given, No DAC selected yet
Possible to got to the GUI, everything OK.
Reboot OK
From GUI (responsive), set resampling, get Spotify (authorize also), Radio Paradise… No slow down
Change No DAC to Allo Piano 2.1
Reboot OK
No slowdown, select Dual Stereo 2.1
No slowdown, reboot OK
Connect to /dev, enable SSH
Through SSH, got to Volumio alsamixer, setup the Piano 2.1 DAC volume level
No slowdown, reboot OK
Play music from internal SSD and Spotify without issue
=Back to normal with 4.021. I guess i am a beta tester now!
Since 4.xx is the futur and solve my issue, i will keep using this!
