My problem is described in title. I’ve got Arcam rDac, and when I play playlist then second or third track start snapping. When press pause and resume, than is ok, but in the next track problem come back. I have this problem for long time, and i tryied propobly all configuration settings to fix this, but unfortunatly dosen’t work.
Now I was start to subscribe Spotify because i want listening a Disney track with my 11 months old daughter, and this problem became to me very annoying.
Does anyone have any ideas how can I deal with it? If it would help, I can upload in a sample as it sounds. Thank you very much in advance.
I use RPi 2 model B. Music are shared from NAS by SMB, but now I mainly use spotify. This snapping happens randomly. Sometimes working well a longer time, but sometimes i need to pause and resume each track.
Previously I used a similar system (runeaudio) and Rune has same problem.
I am looking for a solution on various forums for a long time, but to no avail.
“similar problems with RPi B & B+” maybe this is a hint. I need to test on a different platform. RPi 3 is ok?
I experienced similar issue. It is related to rdac and I tried to fix it by Arcam service but they told me its cheaper to buy new one…
But there is another solution, I assume the issue occurs when you are connecting rdac by USB. There is no such problem with toslink or coax.
What I did was bought hifiberry digi which has got COAX+TOSLINK and then connect rdac another way. ALthough the issue still occurs when I play hi-res tracks I dont experience it anymore while playing 44Hz 16bit tracks. Its also worth mentioning that the sound quality improved after switching to COAX. Guess the cheapest hifiberry digi would be fine, and its easy to setup with volumio (another audiophile OS’es as well).
EDIT:
Oh I forgot about spotify issues which brought me to this forum. For now there is problem with spotify connect playback, there is no sound and spotify can not connect.
