Smsl n100 hardware/software problems

I bought gan N100 several months back and have struggled to get it working. I am quite tech savvy and used Volumio on various Pi devices in the past. My problem is that I cannot get my phone or pc to recognise or detect the N100. This is true for both the WiFi and the direct connection where I have a cable ethernet connection to my pc/router.

I have sent several emails to SMSL and their replies are either vague or plain indecipherable.

I am loosing my mind with frustration made worse by my being disabled and housebound. It is very important to me that I get my music playing again.

Can anybody help me.

Tx in advance, Geoff

I’m not sure how that device works, but in your position I’d try;
Start N100, leave it for 5 mins
Log into your router and look for the N100 device (might need to get MAC address from label on N100, might be serial number or part thereof, might be separate)
Check what IP address is assigned to the N100 MAC address
Open a web browser on your phone or computer and go to the IP address of the N100
You’ll be able to see it Volumio is running, or some other web interface is running
Come back here with your findings

Also, there’s a thread about the N100 that’s had some recent activity, you might see some clues there.

The N100 did come with a premium subscription, but I never got to use it. I couldn’t get that damn thing to work for more than 10 minutes, and I am an experienced Volumio user that has successfully installed Volumio on multiple machines for years. I sent the N100 back after only a few days.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am not confident that I will ever get the bloody thing working.
