Slow switching between tracks with new dac

I have been testing Volumio on a rp3 just with the headphone out, and it has been working great!

Now I have tried it with a Fosi zd3 dac and switching between tracks is very slow and sometimes just freezes.

I am connecting the dac via usb and the music is on a ubs hard drive both connected directly to to dac.

Need some more info as you post is not very clear.

You have connected to your rPi3 USB:

  • A DAC
  • A USB hard drive

Are you using a power hub or external Power source to power the DAC and USB Disc?

Please post a log when you switch between some tracks.

The dac is a Fosi audio zd3 that has its own power supply. The usb drive is powered by the rpi. If I switch the output back to the headphone jack, switching between tracks is fast.

You need to paste the link to the log here, otherwise we are unable to track it down.

I expect the combination of DAC and DISC extracts to much current from your rPi3 causing this strange behavior. Hence we need the log.

Please try to power the DISK via a powered hub or PSU and test again.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will try that and report back.

Here is the log: http://logs.volumio.org/volumio/tBac0YH.html

Please take a clean SD and burn the latest stable version V3.807, Don’t load Beta releases, as your currently running V3.811.
Also don’t install any plugins. First we need to have a stable system.

At least I don’t see any undervoltage errors, but a lot of issues with MPD.

Thanks for your help with this. I found the issue: I removed the peppy meter plugin and now the issue is gone.

I had installed that plugin and even though it was enabled, I never could find where it displayed!

Anyway it is all working great now. The only other plugin I have is Amplifier Switch, and seems to be fine.

Yes suspected peppy, as a rpi3 needs to work very hard for Peppy.

Glad it is resolved.
