Starting from the latest official Volumio release available yesterday (sunday 17-12-2017) and trying to install TouchScreeen plugin immediately after (and even before) the configuration Wizard, I always end up with a grey screen with a mouse pointer in the middle.
If I connect a mouse and make a right click, I have a few options for OpenBox.
** Starting the browser is refused because it is logged in as root.
Ctrl-Alt-F1 brings me to the terminal login screen where I can log-in and apt-get install signals that “chromium-browser” is already installed.
I think this problem is probably easy to reproduce with a Rpi3+TouchScreen only.
After searching in the related threads, I found some people recommending to unplug all USB devices before trying to install the TouchScreen. My tests were made with a keyboard, a mouse and a Wifi dungle plugged (I intend to disable the onboard Wifi). I will try again and let know the results…
Success: Fresh VolumIO download (2017/12/16 version) + Rpi 3 with nothing plugged except Ethernet cable + Simplest possible configuration (English, no I2S board, no Wifi) then install Touch Screen Plugin and then only complete configuration (in my case: French, IQAudio DigiAmp+, Wifi). Should be written somewhere in the doc of Touch Screen Plugin !
Hi!
I have a same projekt, only with Pi2, mine works well too, just one problem: The 7" touchscreen always sleep about after 8-10 minutes… How can this funktion disable?
My touch screen does not show the UI, only when i switch on the rasptouch (from audiophonics) , it asks for a volumio login
do i neem a acount and password?
i installed the touchscreen plugins, but did not had any effect.
Thank you Raendy, i find the file thru Putty, but how can i open it? and what should i write insert when i don’t want to sleep the display?
Thank you for your help!
The xset-command is what I found on the net, but I didn’t find where I have to use it.
It’s the volumiokiosk.sh !! But it’s not alright. The right commands are :
$ xset s off
$ xset -dpms
$ xset s noblank
You have to quote off the command xset dpms 0 0 120 and it works !!
Thanks for bringing me on the right way !!
Best regards
Ralf
