RPi 3B+ and Hifiberry Digi Pro 1.2 plus SSD board for music library

Hi All,

I was hoping volumio 3.832 would work on this set up, but I can’t get any output on the configured Digi Pro, nor detection of the SSD with the music library.

Are there some diagnostics to help find out what is going wrong?

I was expecting to have to load more packages after installing the image. Have I missed something?

And a separate question… Is Spotify connect supported?

Sorry for the noob questions!

SSD Detection
Volumio should recognize most USB-attached storage automatically. A few things to check:

  • How is the drive formatted?
  • Does it spin up or show signs of life?
  • The Raspberry Pi 3 might not supply enough power for some SSDs—using a powered USB hub can help.

Many thanks! I rebooted an re-ran the setup wizard and got some nice audio output! I also found and installed the Spotify plugin. Just need to find that SSD now…

Perhaps it’s just a power supply issue to the suptronics SSD shield that houses the SSD. I’ll check it’s not dropping voltage. Hmm… How do I log into this volumio beastie to do an ‘lsusb’ I wonder?
