Hi,
I bought Rivo in Black Friday. I would like imrove the sound quality with PSU.
I’m thinking about two psu.
Lineo5 and Farad Super 3. The price difference is quite big. Has anyone had the opportunity to compare these 2 power supplies?
Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences.
What did you end up doing. I bought my Rivo+ with the Lineo5 but I also have been curious about the Farad Super3 and 6.
I have a cheap eBay LPS for my Geshelli J3 DAC and am considering an upgrade.
When looking at AliExpress it seems the Lineo5 is very similar to many of the cheaper. LPS units available there, but wasting time and never being sure of the quality, makes me hesitant to buy one of those that appear to be similar.
Not sure how much it matters but the Lineo5 is 5A vs the Super3 is 3A.
Finally I bought the Farad Super3. I can compare it to the Ifi Power 5V 2.5 A. Better but not 10x.
I think the Lineo5 might be enough for the Rivo. It might be better in price/value ratio than the Farad. RIVO is on the Farad Super3 compatible list, 3 A is enough.
If you want to upgrade the Lineo5, I recommend replacing the fuse in it, and try replacing the DC and power cables.
I just replaced the fuse in the switch power supply and I experienced a big change. (You have to be patient with the fuses, it was unpleasant to listen to for a few days, then after 8 days everything cleared up.) I plan to replace the fuse in the Farad as well.
Hi,
Maybe i 'am a little of topic here and havent tried Rivo/Rivo+ or the farads lps.
But have a Primo v2 that i got without the original snaps, so got for starters ifi ipower x and later found bargain price second hand sbooster BOTW for the Primo.
To make it short its the end game for primo. It better from ipower x but not day and night.
Farad 3, lineo5, sbooster etc dont give better sound its lower the noice.
What gave me better sound was spending time on finding correct speaker position i me room and carpet on the floor. And of cause the matching speaker with amplifier and dac streamer
Fuse change in lps is money out the pocket imo as they do not have sound/tone control a your amplifier does.
But thats my honest opion hope you all doing great getting the lps that makes your ears happy and enjoy the music as it all about in first place
