Rivo plus does not give the option for digital outputs (SPDIF,AES/EBU,IIS)

I own a Rivo plus and would like to connect it via IIS to a Gustard A26. First time I’ve run the setup from an iPad (Volumio App is installed) I’ve had the option to check SPDIF,AES/EBU,IIS.
Then I’ve checked Gustard in advanced output settings, and starting playing. The problem came when I’ve turned off the Rivo plus, I presume. Next time a couple of days I’ve turned it on there was no audio device available. When I connect via USB it recognises the Gustard dac and no problem playing. I’ve done a factory reset with IIS connection left only (disconnected from USB) but I’m not given the choice for SPDIF,AES/EBU,IIS connection.
Please, advise!

I have found a solution. In order the option for digital outputs to show one must connect with another digital cable like coaxial or AES/EBU. Just then one can use IIS connection. In order to maintain that connection, one should always keep coaxial or AES/EBU connection too.

I just like to make a suggestion. After the last update in march 2026 setting up Rivo plus is very easy and it gives you the option of choosing IIS connection. So far so good… If I completely cut the power of the Rivo plus next time I turn it on there is no IIS connection. I have to unplug the IIS cable and reset to factory settings in order to get that option (IIS) again. That means that the system does not back up and store the connection settings in case there’s a power cut off. My suggestion is as follows: would it be possible to store the backup file on an external flash drive and when prompted to get the backup from there. Something like a bootable drive…
