Rivo + Losing Playback

Volumio 3 Issues?
My Rivo + whilst showing as playing on the Volumio app there is no sound and this happens regularly, which requires me to restart the Rivo +. Once playing again it randomly does exactly the same when changing between albums or artists. It appears to be losing signal as the signal light on my Dac goes off, having said that it happens even the Dac is receiving signal.

Note I use a Wi-Fi extender which goes through a Sotm network switch which feeds into a Track Audio Smoothlan then into the Rivo, using Supra RJ45 Ethernet cables. I also have the Line05 power supply.

Noting that the same happens when using Qobuz connect.

Also note never had this issue when using a Sotm streamer.

Please post a log right after this happens, so we have some details.
As Rivo+ owner your entitled to premium support.

When an error occurs, what is your audio source at that moment?

  • Is it from NAS, local USB, internal storage, a UPnP server, or another source?
  • Also, please specify your Volumio version (not just “latest”).

I’m not a streaming guru so please excuse my ignorance.

I am hardwired into my WiFi network extender, which feeds into the Rivo + using the Volumio App or Qobuz Connect.

Then please raise a support ticket with Volumio.

Just wondering if the ‘cut-off’ is due to your wifi extender rather than the streamer. I had the same situation when my Rivo was wired to a wifi extender. I have since changed that to a wifi mesh system, got rid of my extender and have not experienced any problem so far. Hope this helps.

I have two mesh Deco units and both are acting as access points because one is wired to my original modem while the other which is located upstairs and not in direct line of sight is wired to the Rivo. Both running at 5 Ghz. This is how the units are set up. I reboot them everyday and do a scan of the wifi for interference once a week to improve the wifi signal beaming function. I used to have a problem accessing Qobuz; skipping tracks and sudden cut off, until Volumio made an update a few months ago and everything is running without any glitch now.

Was not able to play any music (Tidal, web radio, USB) using the iOS native app. Tidal connect worked fine. Restarting Rivo by an app (not manually) solved the issue.
