Resampling feature not working for Tidal Connect

The “resampling (bit depth)” feature in the playback options works for the internal volumio player but does not work for the streaming service “tidal connect”.

Tidal Connect is spitting out the actual bit depth of the song even with the “resampling (bit depth)” feature enabled in the playback options of Volumio.

My DAC (Soekris DAM1021) does not accept 16bit, and therefore I can’t use Tidal connect because 90% of the songs are 16 bit.

Volumio Information

Volumio Version: 3.832
Hardware: Raspberry PI3+
DAC: Soekris DAM1021

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Go to: settings → playback options
  2. Enable “resampling - bit depth” to 24 or 32 bits
  3. Start playback a song with 44.1khz-16Bit via Tidal Connect.

Resaampling in playback affects only what is played by mod like local libraries.
But all connect services, airplay, Spotify are not affected.
For them, you can use resampling in FusionDsp.
In that case, all sources are concerned.
Do not mix both.

Thanks for the quick reply I will try that later on!

Fyi: the resampling does work on the Spotify Plugin (or the spotify plugin is putting out 24bit as a standard even if the song is 16bit)

That does work. To bad the DSP engine has a fixed samplerate.
Is there any change to force tidal connect to 24bit manually?
