Request for screensaver plugin

Greetings.

Does anyone has had success in making/finding a plugin to enable a screensaver with arbitrary images/text being displayed?

What I’ve tried so far has been using xscreenserver in order to accomplish this, and I’ve have had success to a certain degree.

In case there are no available alternatives for this, I would like to turn my xscreensaver “hack” into an appropriate plugin.

Does anyone have experience using and configuring xscreensaver? Can you point me into writing an appropriate installation script for this plugin?

Other option could be using Peppy-meter with custom static images (customize meters.txt config file to not use a needle e.g.). It has also functionality built-in for randomizing display of images and has timing settings.

But peppy would only be activated while playing.

Or avoid all hassle and just use the screen off function of touch display…
