Hello,
Sorry if this problem has already been discussed in another post, i couldn’t find any information about that…
I have 2 raspberry (3B and 3B+) with remote pi board perfectly working with Volumio 3.
I went upgrading the 3B+ with Volumio 4 recently which is a great inprovement in term of stability, reactivity, etc.

Problem is that the remote board isn’t working any more with V4.
I’m not sure but it seems to me I read somewhere (can’t remember where) the gpio library used between V3 & V4 changed, which could explain why the remote board can’t communicate with the Pi.
Does someone would have some information about that, or could help, in any manner ?
Thanks a lot !
Fabien
Remote board??? You might give some details. As google throws 10000 results.
GPIO versus rpi3 and rpi4 is identical, changes came with rPi5.
Hi Wheaten,
Thanks for your answer, but… i don’t get it.
I found nothing on google about remote pi board (msl digital) not working with Volumio V4.
Maybe because i’m the only one that have the problem… don’t know.
I flashed Volumio V4 a few days ago on my sd, and reconfigured it like my precedent install without any particular problem, except that my remote pi board can’t shut off the system since then. (remote pi plugin installed and activated like before).
Wondering if i’m not going to do a new fresh install instead of messing around for hours, as i’m really not an expert of code and all of that…
You just throw in a phrase, like “remote board”. I hope you don’t expect us to google and find out what you mean by simple guessing.
What we have so far:
- rPi3B and or rPi3B+
- Some kind of remote board
- V3 working, V4 not working.
That is not much to work with.
i guess it’s the one sold on Mars…
Ok, sorry if i’ve made you losing your time.
A fresh new install of Volumio 4 has resolved the situation.
Thanks anyways…
