I am new to Volumio and have been trying to use it as a streamer. I have an tube E.A.R Yoshino DAC which can only accept 2 inputs SDPIF, Coaxial and USB Type A.
How can I connect my audio from Raspberry Pi 5 to any of these. I don’t want any interface in between which start converting signals. Anything passive would be best.
Please help with suggestions.
Also I am planning to use a screen/display for Volumio on Raspberry pi but the previous attempt failed. Wanted to add may be a 8.8 screen to just use it as a streaming selection
I believe that the USB port on your DAC is Type B. You can connect using a USB A to USB B cable. Connect from any of the USB ports on the RPi 5 to the DAC.
You need to configure Volumio to output on USB to your DAC. First make sure your DAC is turned on and connected by USB cable to the RPi. In Volumio, go to the main menu > Playback Options > Audio Output. I2S DAC should be turned off, and select your DAC under Output Device, then Save. You should be able to begin streaming.
Raspberry Pi does not have a built-in SPDIF port. To use SPDIF, you would need to add a HAT card such as Allo DigiOne or HiFiBerry Digi.
