Project with PeppyMeter/PeppySpectrum Screensaver Plugin for VOLUMIO

Yes, just the plugin.

Download the zip
My mac automagically unzip the file and create a folder with all the files in it.
Using Filezilla to copy the new folder in /home/volumio on the PI
SSh into the PI
cd /home/volumio
launch the install and stays at
Downloading plugin at http://127.0.0.1:3000/plugin-serve/peppy_screensaver.zip
forever.

Interrsesting… if I copy the link and change it for http://volumio.local:3000/plugin-serve/peppy_screensaver.zip and put it in a browser, my browser downloads a copy of the zip file…

seems with your setup 127.0.0.1 doesn’t resolve. At least you have a work arround then.

There is no workaround to download the zip file manually, unless I can manually install a plugin using the file through the GUI.

The Volumio core needs to download that file first, then install the plugin using the downloaded file, which is not doing so.

There is no need to resolv 127.0.01 as its already an ip address…

Thanks.

Found my issue…

For an unknown reason, my DNS server prevented the plugin installation process to resolv the required server name(s). Change my DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and bang… just working as expected. Great plugin by the way.

At the request of users, I upload skins in the single version
1920x1080

These are skins for 1920x1080 resolution ONLY
We copy to:
/data/plugins/miscellanea/peppy_screensaver/peppymeter/custom_4 (1920x1080)

Hello!
What a fantastic work done! Really impressive!
What do you think about writing a “true” Volumio 3 plugin?
In order to meet requirement you need to follow : Plugin system overview | Volumio Developers Documentation
Your plugin must not
modify mpd.conf
need to compile binaries

package.json needs to be modified
Category miscellanea has been removed in V3

It would be a great addition :grinning:

If these words are addressed to me - thank you for your appreciation. It’s very nice. Unfortunately, I can’t write plugins. If you want and know how to do it - write. I will help with graphics and skins. I’m doing it for myself, if someone takes advantage of it, I’m glad. Regards and thank you very much. Grzegorz

Hi colleagues,
I guess that @2acd should update the plugins and publish it in volumio store, if he agrees
Nevertheless this is one of the great plugins and important thing is that other great members can contribute to it - - like @Gelo5.
So a big thank you.

has been a long time (2months) since @2acd posted a message. Let’s hope he’s ok.

Hi together,
wow what’s going on here. :grinning:
I‘m glad to see, I have give you a framework to build your own skins.
I have to read the posts first to get an overview of what’s new. So many beautiful new skins.

I’ve been very busy lately and didn’t have much extra time because I’m also programming for Garmin and Garmin is releasing a lot of new models at the turn of the year. There isn’t much room left in my head for other things. But it’s getting better.

I’ll get back to you when I’ve got an overview of what has happened here in the meantime.

well in short, port it to V3 and you can have 20+ skins with it

Good thing you’re @2aCD. And implement (if possible) downloading additional photos from the music folder (back.png, back.jpg).

Unfortunately, these skins do not fit into such a small screen. Minimum is 7 "
