Project with PeppyMeter/PeppySpectrum Screensaver Plugin for VOLUMIO

I had a similar issue with 1024x600 skins, this is with the latest version Gelo5 added a few days ago, I will test again with random to see if freezing persists.

Thanks again to Gelo5 for the amazing effort he has/is putting into these skins.

With default skins all is ok. I will add the new skins and check.

Super!
Replace image Dorrough.jpg. You have an old one in CMYK and it should be in RGB. Thanks for congratulations to my son.

And some skins are missing

There will be more skins especially the newer ones to be played and am still looking for a suitable long play soundtrack to go with them. For the next demo I like to explore a different genre for a change. All suggestions are most welcome :musical_score: :musical_note: :notes:

That’s great, thanks!

@Gelo5 Sir please guide me if I am doing something wrong below —

  1. First I downloaded the above skins WinRAR files shared by you above into a folder in my PC.
  2. Then I am extracting the folders from the WinRAR files.
  3. Insert the memory card where I have installed Volumio, go to the peppy screensaver folder and look for the existing 1920*1080 skins folder.
  4. Individually from each of the skins folder you have provided drag all the files into the 1920*1080 skins folder in the memory card inside peppy_screensaver.
  5. Most important - There is a meters file in the existing folder inside the memory card as well as meters files in the skin folders provided by you. I guess I need to edit the meters file in the existing folder inside the memory card by manually copying the data from meters file found in the skin folders shared by you and paste into the meters files inside the peppy_screensaver folder.

Is all the above steps correct sir because inspite of following the above steps, I am not able to access the new skins added in Volumio…Kindly advise.

Hi @rajiv.kumar1984

1.WinRAR are not my skins, mine are packed in ZIP format. Hope it’s just a mistake

  1. You unpack the skins for YOUR monitor resolution to computer (you downloaded 1920x1080 - you have a monitor with this resolution)

3.Run Volumio on RPI / TBS. (I don’t know what you’re playing on)

  1. Connect from computer to Volumio via FTP, eg Filezilla

5.You go to the folder ( VIA FTP):

/data/plugins/ miscellanea/peppy_screensaver/ peppymeter/custom_4 (1920x1080)

5.Copy everything to this folder (graphics and meters.txt file)… Overwrite metres txt

Sir, due to some reason this is not my path file - /data/plugins/ miscellanea/peppy_screensaver/ peppymeter/custom_4 (1920x1080).

My path file is /data/plugins/ peppy_screensaver/ peppymeter/custom_4 (1920x1080)

Is this the reason that I am not able to get the skins as an option on my GUI ?

And the original skins are showing?
What are you with this “sir” - I’m Gelo5 (Grzegorz).
“Sir” is Elon John, Anthony Hopkins, Paul McCartney … :grinning:

Edit: best to uninstall PeppyMeter and do a fresh PeppyMeter installation. If @Wheaten reads, he will probably advise something

Nope,
remove everything and install peppy as instructed. since there is a non standard path for peppymeter, @rajiv.kumar1984 didn’t follow the correct instructions.

  • download peppymeter as plugin, unzip it to your home folder, cd to the folder and run volumio plugin install

Yes @Gelo5 I am able to see the original skins except the new ones.

To be very honest for a non technical noob like me this YouTube link uploaded by @Andy_Yong is the only link available on YouTube to guide on the Peppy Meter Installation. Volumio with PeppyMeter PlugIn Installation Guide - YouTube

I have done my installation as per the exact link above…please let me know if I need to make any changes.

Is there any instructions video you can help please…am really bad with Putty so I followed the video uploaded by @Andy_Yong - Volumio with PeppyMeter PlugIn Installation Guide - YouTube

1.Buy a new 16-32-64GB SD card
2. Install Volumio 3 - can you?
a / download the Fillezilla FTP client (e.g. Windows (64bit x86): https://download.filezilla-project.org/client/FileZilla_3.60.0_win64_sponsored2-setup.exe
b / download the Putty client: Download PuTTY: latest release (0.77)
3.download plugin: https://github.com/2aCD-creator/volumio-plugins/raw/gh-pages/plugins/volumio/armhf/miscellanea/peppy_screensaver/peppy_screensaver.zip
4. Run Volumio on RPi
5. On your computer, type in the browser: volumio.local / dev
6. The Volumio window will open
7.Press “TRUE” for Test Mode and “TRUE” for Plugins Test Mode
8.Press ENABLE for SSH
Done.
Now you need to install the plugin as instructed on page 7 of this thread - you’ve got it all
OR
I can do this for you, buy a card and upload it - fee 2000 USD :grinning:
OR
@Wheaten can do it to you - it’s cheaper - charges 1999USD (if you have time) :grinning:
OR
@naimnatnod can do with yt movie, but that’s 4000USD :grinning:

As you can see, it will be cheaper to do it yourself

PS. Are you sure you replaced the metres.txt file?
There are no original skins in my metres.txt.

@wheaten If you want it with a happy end it’s 6000 usd :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
