That will give beautiful kids, with Emotiva and Volumio as parents.
Emotiva always gives me some flashbacks to the latest Sphinx equipment, with the blue screens and clean design.
This is based on Huawei HarmonyOS.
I tried moode audio that plays DSD but only in DOP or PCM format. The DSD entry does not appear in the information describing the audio device only this:
S16_LE, S32_LE, SPECIAL, S24_3LE
And what results? Does the noise problem occur?
I also tested MoOde, but maybe not all the setting options.
In DOP mode no problem whit moode audio but you canât go beyond 256 DSD
Thanks for the info. They are most likely using ALSA as well.
Hi mastri81,
a new test image for RPi is available, version 3.796.
You can enable test-mode and perform an OTA update.
I havenât tested everything yet, but in my case, it seems to have solved the noise problem when changing the sample rate, with the âPLAYBACK OPTIONSâ;
âMixer outputâ settings:
Software: no noise
Hardware: no noise
None: not tested yet
The noise problem when switching on volumio still remains.
If you find the time maybe you can check what has changed for you.
Regards
Now i can play DSD file in direct mode but noise when a change track is present
After the update to 3.796:
with the âPLAYBACK OPTIONSâ;
âMixer outputâ settings:
Software: no noise
Hardware: no noise
None: no native DSD (PCM od DoP only) - no noise
The noise problem when switching on volumio (initial noise) still remains.
When you set in mixer mode hardware you can play DSD native?
No native DSD (PCM, DoP only) on Hardware mode - frogot to mention.
When I set the playback options to ânative DSDâ and play DSD files, I can see on the DAC display that it converts it to PCM (it shows e.g. 352.8 kHz)
Interesting phenomenon, in version 3.795 DSD worked, but there was no noise when switching the sample rate only in the Mixer setting to Software.
Here, as you can see, only PCM works, but there is no noise when switching the sample rate.
In version 3.796 I can play dsd files natively with the mixer set to hardware mode but I hear noise when I change the frequency of the tracks. The strange thing is that if I continue to listen only to DSD when I change tracks I donât hear any noise, same thing if I listen only to flac but when I change format from flac to dsd or vice versa I hear noise
