Hi all,
Do anyone know if Primo is fully xlr balanced out
B Regards
Yes. See: Volumio Primo - Volumio
@balbuze thx for the link
But some devices have xlr output but aint always fully balanced that was my point
I can confirm it’s fully balanced, with 4 Vrms maximum differential output
Thx for reply as i see in the specs is says rca/xlr output 2 vRMS so i am little unsure if that meant rca 2v rms and 2v per pin on the xlr output
it is definitely a typo in the website, thanks for reporting it!
@Darmur
Tried to contact volumio but havent heard back on this topic.
Typo on web?? Hmm ohh yes we all human and sh.t happens but “mistakes” like this get me thinking volumio primo aint fully balanced as of user manual state same 2v rms so that will be twice a typo??
From what I know Darmur is the hardware engineer behind the Primo, so he should know if it’s fully balanced.
I already reported this typo internally, it will be fixed soon.
Also the user manual must be updated, thanks for reporting.
@Darmur is there any data that the xlr output is 4v rms?
Have to ask as Primo was released long ago really weird nobody have seen the typo or ask you guys even the device was tested by alot hifi dudes in all manners stock psu,lps etc etc.
Besides that the sound production from Primo to Caspian m2 amp that my speakers power out is crips, detailed much louder than rca connex and tight
Hi there! Thank you for your inquiry and for sharing your positive experience with the Primo and your Caspian M2 amp.
To address your question, yes, the XLR output on the Primo is indeed rated at 4V RMS. We appreciate your attention to detail and understand how this information is crucial for your setup.
We have updated the manual on our website to reflect this information more clearly. You can find it here: Primo v2 manual
Thank you for your continued support, and if you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to reach out.
