[PLUGIN] Touch Display

Currently: No.

Maybe it will possible with one of the next versions of the plugin.

Please post the output of

ls -al /sys/class/backlight

and

cat /etc/modules

gvolt,

how can i do this?

sorry im new

You need to connect to Volumio via SSH. At Volumio’s command prompt type in

ls -al /sys/class/backlight

and hit enter. Copy the output and paste it into a new post.

Do the same the other command

cat /etc/modules

If you want to use a touch screen, buy board A. It has an interface for the touch panel, but no brightness adjustment. I have this display with board B and unfortunately I cannot buy only the touch screen but also the board. And this is a big cost. Below are two suggestions:

Cleaning up…

I tried few times yesterday and today morning.

Here are logs:

http://logs.volumio.org/volumio/XKteETU.html

Most often a network issue is the reason for failing downloads and changing the repository mirror as described here may help.

I thought about it and use VPN to change country but without result. Later I will try with your instruction to change mirror. Thank you.

Today I tried one more time and mirror works again.

Hi guys.
I bought this 8.8-inch 1920x480 touch display and I have problems with activating touch under Volumio. In the W10 system, touch works well, but not on Volumio 3.631. I have the latest Touch Display 3.3.8 plugin which I installed on a clean Volumio first. Then more Peppa plugins, Spotify. The display is connected to the Pi with a micro USB and mini HDMI cable and when it comes to the image itself, it is very good. The problem is that the touch screen does not work. I suspect this may be due to bad settings in the config or userconfig.txt file

At the moment I have the following settings in the config.txt file:

initramfs volumeio.initrd
gpu_mem=128
gpu_mem_256=32
gpu_mem_512=32
gpu_mem_1024=128
max_usb_current=1
[pi5]
usb_max_current_enable=1
[all]
include volumeioconfig.txt
include userconfig.txt

Volumio i2s setting below: do not alter

dtoverlay=hifiberry-dac

and these in userconfig.txt

hdmi_timings=480 0 30 30 30 1920 0 6 6 6 0 0 0 60 0 55296000 8
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_drive=2
display_rotate=1
hdmi_force_mode=1

framebuffer_width=1920
framebuffer_height=480
max_framebuffer_width=1920
max_framebuffer_height=1920

I asked the seller what settings I should enter (hdmi_timings), but he replied that he didn’t know.
Can anyone help solve the problem?

Is touch not working at all on Volumio or are touch events happening at wrong places?

What Pi model are you using?

Touch doesn’t work at all on Volumio.
Neither in Touch Display nor in Volumio UI.
I use RPi 3B+.

volumio@volumio:~$

Please try if running

sudo apt-get -y install xserver-xorg-input-evdev

sudo cp /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/45-evdev.conf

and restarting the Touch Display plugin helps.

I entered both commands. After that, I restarted the plugin.
After restarting the Touch Display plugin there was no improvement.
After restarting the entire system, I now have a black screen in Volumio, but the player can be launched from the laptop. The screen with Peppa and Now Playing simply disappeared.

Please again post the result of

cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Also report what’s the effect of removing “/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/45-evdev.conf” by executing

sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/45-evdev.conf

and rebooting Volumio?

Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to do it because a new problem appeared. Volumio doesn’t want to run. It stops and throws errors. Yesterday, after unsuccessful attempts to activate touch, I closed the system but I still had an open session in WinSCP with the config or userconfig file. Most likely, something went wrong then and the effect is now visible at startup. Today, after starting, I received this message.

Before you spend (possibly a lot of) time repairing the damaged system, a new installation is probably the quicker option.

As I thought. I will try to install a clean system and together with Touch Display without other plugins.

I installed a clean Volumio system (reboot) and then Touch Display without any other plug-ins. Since at this stage I do not have an image on the display yet, I uploaded userconfig.txt to the boot/ directory via WinSCP. After restarting, there is an image but there is no touch. Below is the command effect:
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log
