[PLUGIN] Touch Display

Do you have a link to the seller of your screen brand ?
Then we could find the info of the board and look what for the parts
You need for the install of the touch.

No, he had been lying idle for a long time…

3.5 has multiple versions of it is there any info on the board ?

Oke it looks like a
MPI3501

Following this should help.

If you should currently use “dtoverlay=piscreen” remove that.

How to do it? Where to look?

Understood. Thanks. I’m trying.

We had a post from the past with the same screen

This is the mpi3511 @gvolt maybe your old post will do the job.

It didn’t help

So display works, but touch not?

What steps did you take? Did you follow these instructions?

Please post the result of

cat /boot/config.txt

and

cat /boot/userconfig.txt

I’ll try it now, then I’ll unsubscribe.

Sorry, but I don’t understand. Up to now you did not try the instructions from the link?

I’m confused

Me too. :wink: I have no clue what you did to make display (and touch) work and in what state your system is now.

If you also don’t know in what state your system is, I recommend to start with a fresh Volumio installation and follow the instructions in this post.

It didn’t work. I did everything from 0 and according to the instructions.

volumio@volumio:~$ cat /boot/config.txt
initramfs volumio.initrd
gpu_mem=32
max_usb_current=1
dtparam=audio=on
audio_pwm_mode=2
dtparam=i2c_arm=on
disable_splash=1
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
force_eeprom_read=0

include userconfig.txt

volumio@volumio:~$ cat /boot/userconfig.txt

Add your custom config.txt options to this file, which will be preserved during updates

dtparam=spi=on
dtoverlay=tft35a

What does not work? Display? Touch? Both?

Touch

Please post the result of

ls -al /dev/input

You may also (visually) check if the cable between the circuit board of the display and the screen looks ok. Maybe post a picture of the front of the display where the cable is visible, too.
