[PLUGIN] Squeezelite MC

Once again, premium users have it worse :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

For premium users, the system must be rock stable, fully tested. What would happen if deployed on your system as a beta version to see if you find issues?
It is to take care as better as possible of all issues that it takes time.
Premium users need premium experience!
Thanks for your patience

Why is it taking so long? Premium devices should be updated first. Soundclud is down, Squeezelite MC is outdated… The premium experience with Volumio is expensive. Maybe it’s better to buy a cheap Chinese streamer on RPI?

@olivaw

Sorry to interrupt your train of thought.

The move from Debian Buster to Debian Bookworm is a major uplift, not just at the OS level, but also for everything built around Node.js.

As a company, Volumio will follow the path perfectly outlined by @balbuze:
a premium device should never end up running what is effectively a test version. It should ship as a complete, stable, problem‑free release.

That is also why testing was performed first on all Raspberry Pi models and x86 platforms. These have the largest user base and the widest spread of real‑world usage, which makes issue reporting far more effective. On top of that, these ports are largely maintained by community members like you and me, in our free time and under Volumio’s supervision—while Volumio’s in‑house team focuses on the hardware they officially ship.

I’m waiting…

I’m having problems with Album art and metadata not updating on track change.
In an effort to solve this I installed the beta v2.1.0 but this seemed to have a weird effect in that when I went to the Plugins UI Volumio told me I was not logged into MyVolumio and no list of available plugins showed (expected of course if it thinks I am not logged in )even though I was.
uninstalling 2.1 and re-installing 2.0 got things back to normal.

What diagnostics will help with diagnosing this ?

Thanks

Logs might indicate what’s happening. Weird that a plugin that doesn’t touch MyVolumio at all would be able to affect the login status.

Hi,

attached is the log.

Sequence was

  1. Boot Volumio (signed and with plugin version 2.0)
  2. Test and logging enabled
  3. Uninstall Squeezelite 2.0
  4. install Squeezelite 2.1.0 (at this point list of plugins visible)
  5. Restart Volumio
  6. list of plugins no longer visible and message that I need to be logged in

Hi,

I was having problems with album art display when using the new Glass plugin and playing back.to Volumio as a Squeezelite player. Nerd has made some changes to cure it but note his comment in this post about the squeezelite plugin

I am using the 2.2.0 beta release

Thanks
