[PLUGIN] MPD OLED - installation & configuration plugin

@supercrab , @Wheaten
I’ll try this method. Thanks for the tips.

@Wheaten that’s weird. I don’t have a clue :persevere:

I don’t know much about these things am OK at javascript though

Hi users…
i’d like add a mpd-oled to my volumio system…
witch display i can buy?

Hi nadirfly

I strongly recommend that you buy an I2C display (SPI screens won’t work with mpd_oled on a Pi 5). I normally buy cheap displays from random sellers on ebay, and they have always worked. When you are looking, check the display works as I2C, has a 128x64 resolution, and has a supported controller GitHub - antiprism/mpd_oled: MPD, Volumio, RuneAudio and Moode OLED status and spectrum display for Raspberry Pi (and similar)

Adrian.

ok, thank you si much. but can you give me the link for order on amazon or similar?

Is this article correct?
And can I use a dual display for the left and right volume bars without any other information about the audio file?
I would like to add them to my 3.5" HDMI LCD display…
Thanks.

I normally buy from Chinese sellers on ebay. Different ones every time. I can’t recommend any particular seller or screen, but an example listing I might consider is

1,3-Zoll-OLED-Modul 128 x 64 SSH1106-Laufwerk fΓΌr Arduino/Raspberry Pi (4-polig | eBay

Chinese seller, appears reliable (sells a lot, good rating), cheap, typical long stated delivery time (but recent China to Spain delivery time has been around three weeks), 128x64, I2C (4 pin, you will need to solder the header), 1.3 inch screen (if that size is good for you), white (if you like that colour).

Adrian.

The 2.42" I2C OLED looks fine, and that is a very good price for a larger screen. The SSD1309 controller should work fine with mpd_oled.

I meant to say, there are no options to configure mpd_oled to work in the way you want.

when it arrives I will try… I bought from AliExpress this morning

Hi Gelo5, I would like to add the MPD OLED to my Volumio system where there is a 3.5" touch display. Is your display touch or is it just an LCD connected? Also, where can I connect the MPD to the GPIO?

Hi, @nadirfly
My screen is touchscreen 1920x515. You have the connection shown on Github

can you help me for setting my touch on ads7846 3,5" and peppymeter?

of course, what software Volumio? what monitor resolution? For Peppymeter there are 2 separate threads: write there (Full - click on my avatar and Basic - Peppy Meter Basic - The plugin! - #91 by balbuze)

I have this exact screen with the SSD1309 controller and it works fine.

thank you!
my volumio version is the 3.812 on RPi4.
my display is this 3.5inch HDMI Display-B - LCD wiki
and i’m installed touchscreen plugin.

Move this question to the Peppymeter thread (either full or Basic), we’ll be kicked out soon. I’ll just say, you can install Basic or Full version on this version of Voumio. Don’t expect many skins for this resolution though.

ok, thank

Hi

I have this display how can i use this with
Volumio

See picture

Hi @Gelo5 I’m having a problem to work with oled 0.96inch and raspberry pi3b with attached pcm5122 Dacpix920 suptronics st400.
Problem is whenever i reboot/restart the system the dac hat lost in i2s driver.
After i took out the wire/pin of oled and boot it back to normal.
Hardware: rpi3b+
Oled 0.96
Dacpix920 pcm5122 from X920 - Geekworm Wiki

Plugin oled set as arduino i2c
