[PLUGIN] MPD OLED - installation & configuration plugin

Hard to tell the Hifiberry uses GPIO02 and GPIO03 but works without issues with MPD_OLED

Yeah, but this Chinese card (Deluxe) also uses hifiberry digi drivers…

Hi can you help me how to fix this i am having a hard time to get work with this oled i2c
Using rpi 3b+ with a volumio ver 3.703
And the wiring instruct from mpd oled plugin - i2c wiring.
And i use to do some command instructions from github but it seems not working it not show a display.

Thanks for understanding.

Not sure what commands you’ve entered from git, but I can’t support it.
Please download Volumio (lastest stable Version: V3.742) and flash it to a new SD-Card. After initial installation, only install MPD_OLED from the plugin store. As this is working.

I am unable to reproduce your error:

It might be possible that your mpd_oled is broken.

Thank you wheaten! I manage to work with oled thanks to you. The oled i used before is defective. So i bought new one t.
Can i ask again?
Is there possible to work the oled and 16x2 at the same time with a same wiring on i2c?
Oled from i2c and plugin.
16x2 lcd from i2c and pydpiper.

Thanks

Don’t know never tried it.
In theory these devices have their own address, if it will work properly on the same pin…

In theory you can have 127 devices on the I2C bus. Trouble is streaming data faster enough to it.
16x2 LCD should work fine in theory. I haven’t tried it though.

5 posts were split to a new topic: Use parallel connection on 16x2 lcd and pydpiper

Thanks wheaten i made it to work with rpi 3b+ and oled i2c 0.96inch.
Quick question can i use this oled on rpi zero /rpi zero 2w?

Thanks supercrab i made it now.

Hi supercrab! Mind me to ask you with my oled i2c 0.96inch.the problem is that the display not showing after i unplug the ethernet cable/lan cable.
I just want to use/play some music offline. Unfortunately i can play a song but no image/display showing while offline.

The plugin doesn’t use the internet. I’ve checked mpd_oled itself and it doesn’t requires internet. It does use http://localhost:3000 to get the play status. I don’t know what would cause your issue. :frowning:

Thank you it worked now!

Interesting! What did you change?

Hi! I just reinstall the plug in then suprise it worked

It took me 5 minutes to connect to pi hotspot and oled to show. Maybe I’d used a low type micro sd card.

Hello guys,
I noticed after updating to Volumio 3.742 that the sound spectrum in 24bit files is displayed strangely on the Oled display.
The spectrum graph from the beginning to the end of 24bit tracks does not change much and is very similar to the spectrum graph of White Noise.
There is no anomaly in the sound itself, but it looks strange. Have you noticed anything similar in yourself?

I illustrate this in the pictures below:

That curve graph is also showing on Edrian_Lois_Villanue’s recent post, but I notice that it is the same song playing in both cases

spec03

I also notice that Edrian_Lois_Villanue’s display includes a bitrate, but rak39’s display does not.

Does it make any difference if you restart the Pi and this is the first track you play?

I played via Tidal Connect, then the bitrate is not displayed.
The Tidal app integrated with Volumio displays the bitrate to me, but the sound spectrum display effect is the same for 24bit files.
